Right facing profile, three-quarters the shoulders. The curly hair is
bush-like, the nose, that shares the main characteristics of
the face with the chin, is important and humped. The
half-open mouth shows a certain lack of teeth. Leonardo’s
caricatures rarely show expressions such as laughter. Here
the mouth cavity, apart from revealing the missing dentures,
serves to underline the convex forehead, nose and chin. It
is dated around 1495.

Profilo verso destra, spalle di tre quarti. I capelli riccioluti sono
cespugliosi; il naso, che divide col mento la caratteristica
principale del volto, è importante e ingobbito. La bocca
semiaperta mostra una certa scarsità di denti. Nelle caricature
di Leonardo sono rare espressioni quali il riso: qui la concavità
della bocca, oltre a rivelare la dentatura mancante, serve a
sottolineare la convessità di fronte, naso e mento. Databile
intorno al 1495.
