Leonardo da Vinci   -  Two projects of carts heavily laden with scythes

This belongs to a series of war cart projects found in Windsor, the British Museum and in the Atlantic Codex. The cruel details of mutilated limbs remind us that Leonardo observed these falcated carts as “often being more dangerous to friends than enemies”. Below both sketches are precise measurements for construction.

Appartiene a una serie di progetti di carri da guerra ritrovabili a Windsor, al British Museum e nel Codice Atlantico. I particolari truculenti delle gambe mozzate fanno ricordare che Leonardo osservò come questi carri falcati “spesso furono non meno dannosi a li amici che a’ nemici”. Sotto entrambi gli schizzi sono indicate precise misure costruttive.
