At
the top is a representation of a front view of a coleopter
with two legs rubbed out; at the bottom is a formicaleone.
The latter differs from a dragonfly in its shorter body and
longer antenae. They seem entomological drawings in which
movement is suppressed and the relief is shown in the
insect’s structure ( observe the veins in the wings). The
sketch at the top is dated around 1480, that at the bottom
around 1503-5.

In
alto è rappresentato un cerambice visto di fronte, con un paio
di gambe cancellate; in basso, un formicaleone. Quest’ultimo
si differenzia da una libellula per il corpo più tozzo e le
antenne più lunghe. Sembrano disegni da entomologia, in cui il
movimento è soppresso e tutto il rilievo viene dato alla
struttura dell’insetto (si osservino le venature delle ali).
Lo schizzo in alto è databile intorno al 1480, quello in basso
intorno al 1503-5.
