The ornamental design was drawn on a sheet turned 45° to the left. The interwoven ribbons are more evident on the left half. At the top in the centre is an indication of a floral motive, perhaps a leaf. There is no relationship with other of Leonardo’s designs, probably this was a study for an impression of a book cover.

Il motivo ornamentale è stato disegnato col foglio girato di 45° a sinistra. I nastri intrecciati sono più evidenti sulla metà di sinistra. Al centro in alto, un accenno a un motivo vegetale, forse una foglia. Non ci sono riscontri con altri disegni di Leonardo; probabilmente è uno studio per una impressione sulla copertina di un libro.
