It was previously attributed to Marco d’Oggiono and was a preparatory study for the work above the altar in the new vestry of the Certosa of Pavia, which Selvatico considered not to be a copy of the same work of art.  A demonstration of this is the variants present in the work of the Certosa. The drawing might have been integrated into the upper part after the first draft.

In precedenza era stato attribuito a Marco d’Oggiono. È un lavoro preparatorio per la tavola sull’altare della sagrestia nuova della Certosa di Pavia, non una copia della stessa opera come riteneva Selvatico. Lo dimostrano le varianti presenti nella tavola della Certosa; il disegno potrebbe essere stato integrato nella parte alta, dopo una prima stesura.
