A preparatory drawing for the Virgin and Child housed in the Brera Art Gallery in Milan and it is the one by Cesare that most follows Leonardo’s style. Observing the hands, however, it has been noted that the artist’s attention was turned to Raffaello, whom he met in Rome as well as to Leonardo. It is dated to about the first ten-year period of the fifteenth century.

Disegno preparatorio per la Madonna col Bambino conservata nella Pinacoteca di Brera, a Milano, che è il più leonardesco dei quadri di Cesare. Osservando queste mani, però, qualcuno ha notato che l’attenzione dell’artista era rivolta anche a Raffaello, da lui conosciuto a Roma, oltre che a Leonardo. Databile intorno al primo decennio del Cinquecento.
