Nude on horseback, hurtling to the left, trampling a prostrate enemy.

This was probably a study for the Sforza Monument, 1489-93. It might be the pendant of a soldier facing right, a prefigure to the central group in the Battle of Anghiari but, according to Berenson, the sketch is typical of a later period. To others it is simply a study for “ a classical reason of interest to the artist”.

Probabile studio per il Monumento Sforza, 1489-93. Ma potrebbe anche essere il pendant di un cavaliere rivolto a destra, prefigurando il gruppo centrale della Battaglia d’Anghiari; ma il tratteggio, stando a Berenson, denuncia una fattura in epoca posteriore. Per altri è semplicemente uno studio per “un motivo classico caro all’artista.”
