The
fresco in the Constantine Hall in the Vatican was painted by one of
Raphael’s pupils after his death in 1520. The drawing dates back to
1518 and is characterised by the graphic style of the last years of
Sanzio’s life, a geometric simplification of lines and members
together with an agility when dealing with the effects of light. The
name of Giulio Romano has also been proposed. On the verso is the figure
of a feminine profile, almost certainly his.

L’affresco
nella Sala di Costantino, in Vaticano, venne realizzato dagli allievi di
Raffaello, dopo la sua morte avvenuta nel 1520. Il disegno è databile
intorno al 1518 e possiede le caratteristiche dello stile grafico degli
ultimi anni di vita del Sanzio, una semplificazione geometrica dei
lineamenti e delle membra unita alla scioltezza nel trattare gli effetti
di luce. È stato proposto anche il nome di Giulio Romano; sul verso
figura un profilo femminile sicuramente suo.
