This nude is a preparatory drawing for the fresco of the Dispute of the Sacrament in the Segnatura Room in the Vatican, and precisely the second figure on the left. The use of a soft black pencil allowed for the precise modelling and the rich effect of light- dark, with attention paid to anatomical details. It was probably drawn at a later stage in the preparation of the cartoons for the fresco in about 1508.

Si tratta, per la figura nuda, di un disegno preparatorio per l’affresco della Disputa del Sacramento nella Stanza della Segnatura in Vaticano, e precisamente per il secondo personaggio da sinistra. L’uso di una matita nera morbida ha permesso una modellazione precisa e ricca di effetti di chiaroscuro, con dettagli anatomici molto curati. Dev’essere stato eseguito in una fase avanzata della preparazione dei cartoni per l’affresco, quindi verso il 1508.
