THE
DREAM OF ST. MARTIN
During his sleep the vision of Christ wearing half of the cloak that had
been donated to the poor man and surrounded by a group of angels appears
to St. Martin.
There
seems to be almost a detachment thanks to the attentive usage of
perspective in the scenes of the saint as he sleeps and the vision of
Christ amongst the angels almost a confrontation between the real world
and the heavens.
IL SOGNO DI SAN
MARTINO
Durante il sonno, a San Martino
appare la visione di Cristo circondato da una schiera d’angeli, con
addosso la metà del mantello che lui aveva donato al povero.
Sembra
quasi ci sia un distacco, grazie ad un uso attento della prospettiva, fra
la scena del santo che dorme e la visione di Cristo tra gli angeli, quasi
per contrastare il mondo reale da quello ultraterreno.
