La snervata e
disinvolta mollezza con cui sono proposti qui tipi di scuola carolingia
lascia supporre che si tratti di un «falso» - o meglio, di un
rifacimento - del XII secolo; a dimostrare che la scultura romanica,
nonostante la virulenza con cui si impone, non spazza via subito
totalmente i residui più agghindati delle scuole aulicizzanti. |

The
“Tradito legis”
The easy and relaxed way in which these types of
Carolingian schools were proposed leaves one to suppose that we are dealing
with a “fake” or at least a reconstruction in the 12th century
to demonstrate that Romanesque sculpture, despite the virulence with which it
imposed itself, did not immediately and totally sweep away what was left of
the courtly schools.
