della cripta di S. Zeno a Verona, il recupero dei valori propri della
plastica, con un senso di materialitą greve ed affaticante, appare
abbozzato in queste figure elementari e grossolane; esse duramente ma
perentoriamente prendono forma con la chiusa energia di canopi etruschi;
l'ottusitą psicologica non toglie loro il raggiungimento di una
significante figurativitą. |

of the crypt
As with other originals in the crypt of S. Zeno in
Verona, recuperation of the values of plasticity with a rough and tiring sense
of materialism, they appear sketched in these elementary and roughly produced
figures. They are continually and forcibly created with the enclosed energy of
Etruscan canopies, the psychological obtusity that does not stop them from
reaching a significant sense of the figure.
