il Legros sembra decisamente più a suo agio nei confronti del collega,
forse per una più sprezzante audacia nel trattare il marmo come materia
fittile, così da togliere alle figure ogni senso di costrizione o di
regola statica. |

Religion Expelling Heresy
In his truly plastic solution of
the overagitation of Baroque displays, Legros seems more at ease than
his colleague Théodon, perhaps because he treats the marble with
indifference and daring, as though it were clay. This removes from the
figures any feeling of constraint or static rule.
