THE MELANDRI HOUSE (1957)

In designing this house, Ponti played with some of his favourite elements : diamond shapes, the contrast between full volume and that overhang the empty spaces of the windows and the materials that he loved-silver aluminium and grey-coloured, diamond ceramics.
Another primary characteristic of this building is the staircase for the five floors that appears as a type of kaleidoscope game of colours between the walls and the same steps.

Nel progettare questa casa Ponti gioca con alcuni dei suoi elementi preferiti: volumi a diamante, il contrasto dei volumi pieni e sporgenti sui vuoti delle finestre e i materiali da lui amati, l’alluminio argento, la ceramica a diamante di colore grigio.
Altra caratteristica primaria in questo edificio č la scala che per cinque piani appare come un caleidoscopico gioco di colori, fra pareti e gradini stessi.
