Hedera helix or common ivy is a climbing (or hanging) plant with persistent leaves that is mainly grown outdoors. The
type with small, variegated leaves is of decorative value.

of origin: Europe and Canary Islands
Cultivation:
The variegated-leaf plant requires more light than other varieties favouring more shady places. Cultivation of ivy
does not usually present problems. It is sufficient to have humidity without, however, stagnant water around the
roots. A small flowerpot is better with soil rich in organic substances.
Multiplication:
It is simple to obtain new plants by placing new top shoots in water during the warmer months of the year, waiting
for them to root, then plant in flowerpots.

Descrizione:
L'Hedera helix, o edera comune, è una pianta rampicante (o ricadente) a
foglie persistenti coltivata soprattutto all'esterno. Le varietà a
fogliame minuto e variegato presentano un interessante valore decorativo.
Coltivazione:
Le varietà a foglie screziate desiderano più luce rispetto alle altre che si adattano anche a posizioni decisamente
ombrose.
In generale non si incontrano difficoltà nella
coltivazione dell'edera a cui, per prosperare, è sufficiente godere di umidità costante senza però ristagni
d'acqua molto temuti dalle radici.
Si consiglia un vaso di piccole dimensioni con
terriccio di coltura ricco di sostanze organiche.
Moltiplicazione:
Ottenere
nuove piante è semplice, basta porre in acqua alcuni getti apicali nel periodo più caldo dell'anno, attendere che
mettano le radici e sistemarli in un vaso.
