GNDEVANK' / Xth-Xllth centuries
Monastery located to the north of Sisian in a valley to one side of the road which normally leads to Lake Sevan. The complex is encircled by a fortified wall with the customary massive semi-cylindrical towers.
The church which dates from A.D. 999 is a tetraconch. It is preceded by a slightly later structure consisting of a single nave covered by a barrel vault. At the top, small triangular exterior niches are carved with characteristic small heads, whereas curious stone triangles emerge from the interior of the drum.
Several delicately carved Khach'k'ars standing at the entrance to the church are particularly elegant.

This monastery is in process of restoration.
