Gathering
acorns and hunting hares
There are two main parts to
this scene. At the front is a group of pigs that are eating
acorns knocked by the men from the oak trees. Behind this group
on the other side of a stream is a night hunt of the hare. Of
note in this canvas is the ability that the artist uses in
clearly representing the types of animals and their
characteristics.

raccolta delle ghiande e la caccia alla lepre.
Le
scene dominanti questa volta sono due. In primo piano una
mandria di porci che divorano le ghiande cadute dalle querce per
mano dei contadini. In secondo piano, al di là di un ruscello,
una ronda notturna che dà la caccia alle lepri. Anche in questa
tavola si nota la grande maestria con cui l’autore riesce a
delineare le razze degli animali e a far trapelare le loro
caratteristiche.
