Reaping and Shearing

In this scene two men intent on shearing sheep are at the forefront, scrupulously watched by a bailiff. Behind they are reaping the corn that, illuminated by the sun, seems to emanate warmth. In the distance, dominating and threatening, are the buildings of the city.

La mietitura e la tosatura.

Nella scena si notano dapprima due uomini intenti a tosare le pecore, sorvegliati da un gastaldo. In secondo piano la mietitura del grano che, illuminato dalla luce del sole, sembra quasi emanare calore. In lontananza, dominanti e minacciosi, si elevano gli edifici della città.
