A rich man’s table

All the paintings on the calendar show life at court and the differences between the everyday life of the wealthy and that of the peasants who worked for them.

A solemn banquet is taking place where the rich lord is seated in the middle of the table with all his servants around him busy at their tasks. The table is impeccably prepared and the room contains ornaments and furnishings that immediately bring to mind the idea of wealth and luxury.

Tutte le immagini a fronte del calendario hanno lo scopo di mettere in risalto, nella vita di corte, le differenze tra l’ambiente urbano dei signori e quello rurale dei contadini al loro servizio.
Qui si dà vita ad un banchetto solenne, dove il ricco signore è seduto al centro della tavola e tutt’intorno a lui si scorgono i suoi servitori impegnati nelle varie mansioni. La tavola è imbandita in modo impeccabile e la stanza mostra ornamenti e suppellettili che richiamano subito l’idea della ricchezza e del lusso.
