The Marriage
The main scene is the wedding procession and it is rich in symbolic details. Spires seem to appear like visions from the back of the picture and remind us of a van Eych landscape with a boat in the distance recalling a long voyage and, on the left, a minstrel holding a frog, a good luck symbol.
A chariot of time dominates the scene and shows the everyday events of life in the country mapped through the stars.

Questa immagine, dove la scena principale è il corteo nuziale, è ricca di elementi simbolici. Sul fondo trapelano, come visioni, delle guglie che ricordano i paesaggi di Van Eyck, in lontananza si vede una barca che fa pensare ad un lungo viaggio e, sulla sinistra, un menestrello con in mano un ranocchio, simbolo augurale.
Su tutta la scena domina il carro del tempo che determina, attraverso gli astri, le vicende terrene.
